After 20 years growing high quality, container nursery stock, 2011 will be our final season.

We would like to sell:

• Our inventory of plants- see attached list - All highest quality at very reasonable prices.
• Our customer contacts, know-how, smaller plants inventory, supplies (containers, over-wintering protection, irrigation, mist sprayer, miscellaneous)

Opportunity:

Niche Market- Our specialty is high quality, larger sizes, particularly for the upscale market. We also sell to local landscapers. Our biggest crops are pieris Brouwer's Beauty- hardy and deer resistant, Rhododendrons- PJM, Roseum Elegans, plus other popular plants.

Step into an existing business, with existing customers. Most of our plants are shipped by Hawthorne, LRH Trucking- they leave a 53 foot trailer at the nursery. We fill it with $20,000 of plants, stacked on shelves. They deliver and return the empty trailer to us. Customers pay approximately 5% for shipping.

Possibility to Expand- I have been running the nursery part time, at the same time that I have been teaching engineering at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY. This season, we did mailings and made sales visits. As a result, our sales are running almost twice last year.

Clearly, there is real potential to expand sales. We have plants at different stages of growth- smaller plants are ready for stepping up into larger sizes.

Workers - We typically employ 3 H2A workers from Mexico. Leader of the team has been with us for 5 years and wants to stay and continue with the new owners.

Customers

Re-wholesalers and nurseries in Westchester, Connecticut and suburban Boston.- Mostly high-end, who want larger sizes of hardy, high quality plants. Local landscapers in Berkshire, Rensselaer, Columbia County
